One of my new favorite SEO books is called, “= Search Engine Optimization, An Hour a Day”.  I spent a couple solid hours on Sunday sitting in Star= bucks pouring through it’s pages like it was GNU Interfaces And C++ .   = ::::sigh:::: I am a nerd.

Anyway, I thought I would share a few tips with you= .

Tips from the book:

Here’s the lowdown on the most important fact= ors for Google page ranking:

<= span style=3D'direction:ltr;unicode-bidi:embed;font-family:Symbol;font-size:8.= 0pt; language:X-NONE;color:black'>· HTML page title

Probably the most important of the visible text ele= ments is your HTML page title...In search engines, it gets top billing, usu= ally as the bolded first line of a search results page.  This page is eternally important because it gets= maximum exposure in the search engine page results.  If you care about getting clicks to your site, this= text should be succinct and compelling, and for your best chance at conver= sions, it should accurately summarize the page content.

<= span style=3D'direction:ltr;unicode-bidi:embed;font-family:Symbol;font-size:8.= 0pt; language:X-NONE;color:black'>· Visible HTML text on the page<= o:p>

In order to rank well for a particular set of keywo= rds, your site should contain them.

<= span style=3D'direction:ltr;unicode-bidi:embed;font-family:Symbol;font-size:8.= 0pt; language:X-NONE;color:black'>· Inbound text links<= /span>

Links with the most rank-boosting power are links f= rom a home page, as opposed to links from pages buried deep within the site= and authority pages in the topical community , meaning pages with their ow= n collection of fabulous inbound links.

<= span style=3D'direction:ltr;unicode-bidi:embed;font-family:Symbol;font-size:8.= 0pt; language:X-NONE;color:black'>· Age of domain

Although perplexing, it does seem to be true that G= oogle values age over beauty.
